I like that Batu's son doesn't leap at the chance to endanger himself and everyone's pretty respectful of that. The sequence builds up all the characters and doesn't feel like artificial drama.

Also enjoy the blonde's reasoning for who she'll switch places with, it's questionable, but feels like she'd think it's the right decision. Better a reluctant villain than one who enjoys it, and hopefully this doesn't end in the girl who stayed going cray.

This series continues to exceed expectations, I might keep my eye out for the trade of this.

Next issue opens with a really creepy scene featuring Hector, Helen and Zari that hints at what's in store for her.

Wow, Batu's daughter is really messed up. Propably due to being made believe she's special her entire life, and than suddenly she's not. Makes kinda sense why'd she jump at being a supervillain to have some power at least, even if her reasoning is that of a spoiled child.

Yeah her family has screwed her up and next issue it doesn't get any better. Batu still hasn't learned her lesson about parental favortism.

Something is very wrong when an ex-supervillainess acquaintance (Helen) is a better parental figure than the actual mother (Batu). Helen is at least trying to show her that jumping into a demonic bargain is a bad idea.

Figures that Sovereign's first hint of genuine feeling comes after he gets his ass kicked. Physical vulnerability followed by emotional vulnerability.
