"It's been one of the joys of my life to have met and, in recent years, become friends with, Chris Claremont. His enormous contribution to comics is still undervalued. This title is dedicated to him." -- Paul Cornell
The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier Hercules has been taken over by a mysterious mind-controlling entity, and Wolverine and three agents are the only individuals who remain uninfected. They've just survived mind-controlled Nick Fury's attempt to drown them by flooding their chamber (thought it seems to have been more of a show of cracking the whip than a serious attempt to kill them).
One of Wolverine's allies is impaled by a trident, while another gets his breathing apparatus damaged, making him vulnerable to the mind-control. Now Logan and the female agent are the only ones left.
Half an hour later, after all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have been restored to their right minds, the "trigger" is pulled, and we find out what it is...

Date: 2013-07-25 11:43 pm (UTC)I'm glad I dropped this title. I keeping trying to like Cornell, but aside from Demon Knights he's always been underwhelming to me.
