To force Tony to merge with the Godkiller, 451 programs it on a collision course with an inhabited planet. The only way to stop it is to become its pilot.



But something's wrong. The controls aren't working.







451 sends the Godkiller on a new collision course -- straight for Earth...

Okay, I think the fact that Tony CAN'T pilot the godkiller is a big honking hint that those brain enhancements 451 claims to have given him never actually worked. And that Tony's brain is 100% Natural.

Forgive me if someone's already said this (it's late and I'm feeling very, very sick) but the mechanoid who fought his way out from under the thrall of Unicron the freaking Chaos Bringer can't shake off 451?

Sigh.

I know, I know: this is 616-Death's Head and therefore a separate character from TFUK-Death's Head, but still it rankles. Especially with a Brit and lifelong Simon Furman fan writing the book.

Sigh.

So very glad I'm letting this arc build up in my pull-box to buy, read and forget in one fell swoop. Can't wait for Tony to get back to Earth.

I am amused when bad guys' plans don't work and they assume that it's because the good guys are being uncharacteristic bastards, rather than the plan just not working.

I don't think it works too well with 451, though. He's supposed to be this master manipulator who knows Tony super-duper-extra-well to boot; of all the people out there, he shouldn't assume Tony's suddenly taken forty levels in bastardry.

I stumbled upon that horrific concept entirely by accident whilst floating around Encyclopedia Dramatica and guiltily laughing at everything, and... Gods, yes.

This book needs to just be rid of Land. Really. It's not... He isn't even really gelling with the book like Larocca did with Fraction after a bunch of issues. He's not the artist for this kind of book at all - You need a Pichelli or Pasqual Ferry or something who can actually do really interesting kind-of fluid sci-fi stuff, not someone whose aliens and sci-fi designs look dull.

sighs i really wish Land would TRY to legitimately draw facial expressions, Tony looks like he's smirking when he's telling 451 he cant pilot Godkiller...when im sure that scene is supposed to be very dramatic and serious.

Clearly 451 doesn't know any of what Tony Stark has been up to in New Avengers if this surprises him.
