You know, it kinda sounds that Starscream is trying to convince himself here. And I guess it kinda follows, since he's always gotten slapped down when he's reached for that brass ring. I would be waiting for the other shoe to drop too.

Aside from the rather peculiar instance of his actions in the episode "The Weakest Component" in Beast Machines, I can't really buy Rattrap ever working with Starscream, largely because Rattrap's personality may be somewhat... okay entirely underhanded and cynical, but he was never Decepticon-ish about it

That was my biggest problem with this issue really. While I get this isn't Beast Wars Rattrap, and he's going to be different, but this a bit too much. Rattrap in Name Only, as it were.

The other problem is that yet again, Starscream only achieves anything by screwing over the person doing the work, and Iacon falls for it AGAIN. Their gullibility, and his actual uselessness in any situation, is getting pretty predictable.

It says something that most of his supporters (but not all) are NAILs. In other words, the people who don't know him. There's a reason Bumblebee and his Autobots and even some of the Decepticons didn't want to accept him as leader.

Unless perhaps this is Rattrap trying to fight the good fight by being a rat. It would fit his character to get close to a bad guy just to help take him down.

I actually like this direction with Rat-trap. We don't know much about him pre-beastwars. He could have been more disreputable in the past and had some moment of awareness.

Well I let it slide because this is a different completely different Rattrap.

The Beast Wars/Machines Rattrap was never online during the G1 period and never really interacted with the Autobots and Decepticons. This Rattrap seems a bit more along the lines of Rattletrap from Animated.

IDW versions are often their own thing- some resemble their other counterparts, some art altered.

So yea, BW Rattrap would, but this guy's a Rattrap who lived a different life.

His golden age was long screwed up. For he's overlooked the key clog in his reign: Shockwave. When the bot is keeping REALLY quiet then you should be going after him. To not is just asking Shockwave to do something. Oh wait he is.

No no, the biggest hurdle in his golden age is that he's the one in charge.

It's a good thing he's not wearing that crown in-story; a Starscream dons one of those, you know he's not got long to go before his fall.
