Fancomics: The X-Generation, Grandpa Magneto, Quire Quarrels, and more!

This joke was originally going to be about superheroes having standardized wangs, but I chose to take a different low road.



I know I’m doing a lot of these, but Grandpa Magneto strips are aggressively fun to write.

(I'm also aware that David is bi and not gay.)



There’d probably be a lot less relationship drama in comics if the characters had a little more “me time.”

Anyway, no judgement on Jean for making out with Beast. Girl’s gotta sow her oats while she’s young.



I know, I know, comic book time, suspended animation, etc, etc. The whole Quentin/Idie thing still gives me the creeps.


This comic was drawn whenever my boss wasn’t looking at me.




Cannonball, Jubilee, Pixie, Oya. I’d bet the blue haired Aussie girl would be the one to stick around this generation if her power wasn’t so game-breaky.

Yep! The two of them have a fair amount in common, though I'd say she's more responsible and balanced than he is.

all that talk about that has made me realize something that I'd kind of like Alex or anyone to point out. Xavier didn't create the X-men to be like a good counter example to say "You don't need to be afraid of mutants." At the time he was founding the school there were no superheroes, hadn't been any since WW2(the Lost Gen never gets referenced in real continuity). But he'd encountered hostile aliens and knew of mutants who would want to take over the world and enslave humanity. So the earliest X-men were really likely set up to just be ordinary superheroes.

Speaking of sliding timescale, I think there's potential to do one of these comics in the fact that, by this point, all the major Marvel life-events have happened just before 9/11 or post-9/11.

By life-events I mean Cap getting unfrozen, Peter getting bit by a radioactive spider, the Fantastic Four getting bombasted by cosmic rays, etc...

I think Clint's hearing came up during the flashback issue of Hawkeye, the one about his and Barney's abusive childhood, but other than that it's yet to really be used. Which is odd because I'm almost certain I read something about how Clint's hearing impairment would be acknowledged more.

Also I love Grandpa Magneto, he's much more amusing than the generic version.
