Yknow my first reaction is "Oh come the fuck on....."
But given how this has been building up, how low the the blows have been and the loyalties Namor/Tchalla have to their respective kingdoms? I kinda like this.
"I was just recently thinking how X-Men writers constantly ignore Iceman's power level. It's great to see it highlighted here."
Maybe in the past, but certainly not lately. Liu's last arc of Astonishing had Iceman nearly destroying New York after going crazy with his power, and pretty much every issue of W&TXM's Hellfire Saga featured some crazy Iceman feat, from multiple clones to creating a giant, moving ice sculpture basically in the shape of Voltron.
*Namor sitting on his throne after Proxima Midnight leaves* "Did I ever tell you T'Challa of the old Atlantean proverb 'That revenge is a dish best served cold.'?"
*leans forward, staring straight ahead* "Well, it's very cold at the bottom of the ocean."
(As Namor's advisor's are wondering who he's talking to)
Well, Atlantis was basically wiped out after the brief war with Wakanda before Infinity started. Even if that weren't the case, I would think Namor's advisors would be used to hearing him monologue to himself by now.
Makes sense since Omegas tend to able to manipulate fundamental aspects of the universe. There are the Omega level psychics who can warp reality, energy manipulators like Vulcan, and so on.
Presuming his "freezing powers" work by absorbing kinetic energy of molecules to reduce the temperature, Iceman could certainly qualify as a real powerhouse.
My question is if his powers can absorb kinetic energy, where does it all go? He really should be able to produce tremendous heat as well as tremendous cold.
You know, if you're one of Thanos' chosen elite and you lose a fistfight to the Black Panther, I'm pretty sure your next job is waxing the Thanos-Copter.
Thanos respects raw strength, he has noted that he has never engaged the Hulk in physical combat because he has no idea if the Hulk even HAS an upper strength limit, and has no intention of being the one to find out the hard way.
Though now you say it, I want to see a Thanos-Copter! :)
Meh, I getting tired of these level type events. The only last good ones were the cosmic Marvel between and including Annihilation to Thanos Imperative.
But the fact that Wakanda has a population means that Namor is basically sentencing innocents to probable death because he thinks T'Challa should suffer. That makes me basically despise Namor and I can't see any action which would counter that loathing.
Hmm, with some cosmic stuff going on I might actually have to go back to reading some comics. Although the constant jobbing of characters tends to be annoying.
I'm actually really enjoying Infinity right now and love the Black Order. Finally some true heroes vs villains story and so far the villains are proving to be a legitimate threat.
Is that "Earth, you see... she has no Avengers" bit supposed to come off as stereotypical broken English? Because now that I've thought of it I can't help but read it in a heavy Italian accent.
The Ebony Maw and Supergiant're mindfuckers supreme, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive're warriors extraordinare.. and he's just really heavy.
If it wasn't for Thanos's response to his loss, I'd think he was intentionally like a false hope- you beat him, you maybe think " Alright, maybe these guys ain't so tough ", and then it just hurts all the more when they screw you over.

3. At first I was confused with Namor bowing to someone, but then the payout, the sweet, sweet payout.
