A #1 for the new year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Imageshack has had a major redesign since the last time I signed in, so if anything goes wrong, please bear with me.

While the show itself may have become something of a zombie franchise, it's always fun to look at the Simpsons comic books. Here's the latest issue focusing on Lisa.



I'm posting three pages of ten from the lead story, "The Pyramids of Lisa" .



Lisa sees a news report of a new pyramid being found. She starts dreaming of being a pharoah, and how she would have made Ancient Egypt a utopian society.



She's also instituted wind farms and freedom of religion.




The gods are not happy with Lisa; they set the rules, they get to decide any given mortal's destiny. Humans must learn humility, even if the gods have to destroy everything Lisa has workd for.

Lisa wakes from her dream, and is grateful that such a thing would never happen in real life...last page surprise!


There are also stories about Lisa entering Santa's Little Helper in a dog show, and trying to start a lending library in her neighborhood.

Pretty sure that's deliberate, the artist is a big anime fan.

The artist also did a Death Note parody, "Murder, He Wrote!" Lisa makes a pretty great L, too.

Yeah, I notice more and more in the show, Lisa has been... rather difficult. She is very unappreciative of her parents (especially her Dad: a man who works for the man who tried to kill his father, had both his Mom and dog go into hiding, sexually harassed his wife, hit his son with his car and than stole him when he became his heir, and doesn't remember his name), she constantly looks down at Bart, who is actually more stable than her (see how well she takes a B in Conduct)... genius or not, she is a Simpson... but the writers seem to give better favor for her as nearly everything works out for her in her episodes... except somehow the pairing off with Milhouse seems more and more real recently...

I really love really impossible to have anime hair and it looks awesomely nice on Lisa.

It's kinda ironic that a pharaoh, god himself (as they're all male, even when they're women), would give out that message.
