The remnants of Peter Parker are in Otto's mind but they're mostly depleted.



The Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin are fighting over control of New York.



The Avengers, suspicious of Spider-Man, decide to pry into his records to see if there's anything that can tell them what's going on.




Later, Phil Urich unmasks the Hobgoblin's corpse only to find out it's not him.

That Marcos Martin art is gorgeous, if SSM actually looked like this all the time I think I'd pick it up even though I still hate the plot. Is the colorist on his pages different though? Because part of me wonders if I'd like Ramos' art more if it had a less pseudo-realistic palette, like Martin has here.

And right after that is basically, "Stupid Avengers, I never wanted to be part of your stupid club anyways! I'll start my own superhero team, and none of you are allowed to join!"

But seriously, I would love if the next issue or two is Otto having a complete mental breakdown and becoming a raving psychopath (you know, more so than he already is). The only parts of this story I like is when Otto is acting like an actual supervillian instead of Otto wearing a Peter Parker skin-suit, so it'd be really fun to see him go all-out crazy before the end of this.

Of course, knowing how this series has gone so far, that probably won't happen. But it's fun to dream.

Well, the book is ending soon, and we're starting to see the seeds of how Peter will come back, so it's possible that Spider-Ock will go more and more crazy as it goes on--not to mention the time loop we saw with the 2099 arc...

My first Spider-Man comic was "Spider-Hunt", in which Osborn had put a price on Spidey's head, the city had been flooded with bounty hunters, and Peter still went out into the fray just to save an innocent child. (Normie Osborn, who himself hated Spider-Man).

So yeah, for me Spidey has always been the greatest superhero, precisely because he never gives up, even though he gets so much crap thrown against him. It's nice to see him written like that again.

Nice to see that Slott's still running with that knack of making everyone look like tools for SpOck. Like, some of the Avengers can actually fly, Iron Man presumably has some nonlethal bullshit hidden in his armour, Steve Rogers could safely knock him out of the sky, Black Widow presumably has nonlethal stuff too and the skills to hit someone moving as fast as Spiderman... But.. Nope. Let's just stand there and let him get away.

The only way they could look like bigger fucking clowns in that panel is if Slott actually wrote 'oh, okay. nevermind then' or 'HURRRDURRRR' above their heads.

And again, can NO-ONE really put two and two together just from the way Peter's speaking? Again, he sounds like a supervillain when he's speaking, for god's sake.
