"We basically see him as a post-coital Peter Parker." -- Dean Haspiel

He sees through the illusion and beats up the monster. After its defeat, it transforms into someone the Fox recognizes, his fellow superhero Bob Phantom.

"He uglied my pretty husband. Barbarianed his mind until he battle-axed our own tribesmen, deading many!"

"To read makes our speaking English good" - Xander Harris.

Actually, I have great admiration for writers with the ability to mangle language just enough to make it weird whilst still leaving it comprehensible.

I like this... though, alas, I now find I can't read the opening narration without hearing it in the voice of Cecil from "Welcome to Night Vale"

"Choose your words carefully. One of them is duplicitous. One of those words... is not like the others. Welcome... to Diamond World."

I read it with the voice of Rod Serling in mind myself. Or at least I did after the initial Beatles spoof, which I heard sung in the voices of, well, the Beatles, of course.

Good writing; that sort of mangling is actually pretty hard to do well. She murders the language with style while just exuding authority. "Hero us, courage man!" I love that.

Thanks for posting this.

I got to admit, this series actually looks really good. The part where he sees the illusion of his wife specifically cracked me up, and the whole acid-trip like nature of the Diamond world looks amazing. I'll need to pick up this series when I have the chance.

Never read this guy before, but he reminds me of Tailgate from MTMTE. This is a great thing. :)
