Apparently the Doomsday that Superman fought and died defeating many years ago was just a lava.
Doomsday has evolve now to where he can simply absorbed power from living things to make him stronger and have a death/heat aura thing going on that torches, melts, and burns everything in his path.
Makes sense, he was created to survive any eventuality, so naturally Doomsday constant comes back with some new and interesting manner to kill stuff everytime he comes back.
...Until the time he evolved sentience, which proved to be a bad move as that enabled him to feel fear for the first time, meaning Superman was just able to hurt it until it agreed to stop. Or something.
I've been looking at so much evil Superman lately that it took me a minute to realize he's the good guy here, hah. Also did he inhale Doomsday...spores?
Venus isn't a gas giant toxic atmosphere yes but that shouldn't be a problem for the two of them.
What we should be bothered that we can see the sun in the sky in a few glimpses as they are fighting. Given the thickness of Venus atmosphere we shouldn't be seeing it if they were on the surface.
It looks like they got Mercury and Venus mixed up..
IIRC, Gas Giants actualy (probably) DO have a surface, or at least "kinda solid core" where the gasses are just compressed hard enough they're kind of solid (or at least liquid)
When I first heard of this -- that Superman was infected with a "Doomsday virus" (and not knowing of Doomsday's prior appearance in the New 52) -- I thought they were doing a new take on Doomsday, making it like the creature(s) from John Carpenter's THE THING. Which would be an interesting twist on the "adaptation" thing it's had.
So anyone, tell me, how would you rate this against the original Death of Superman? The Way DC hyped this, just seems like it's supposed to be as big or bigger. Is it the kind of sequel that's good, yet isn't as good as the previous story? Is it the type that just totally sucks? Is it surprisingly better? What do you say?
"I'm powered by the sun, so instead I'll fly him to a planet with an atmosphere so thick I can't see the sun, instead of, y'know, flying him into the gorram SUN."
