The discovery that he'll be getting a more human-like body (i.e. closer to the nature of the Singularity) makes the guy quite happy. It's enough to renew his shaky faith.







The escapee, it turns out, is Magnus himself, who's jumping around and destroying robots, as is his wont.

Our ex-Gunbot narrator joins in the attack against him.

Ehhh? I didn't expect this from what I had seen of van Lente's Magnus posted here before, and making the Magnus setting, with its old-school androidish robots, post Singularity-cum-Nanoclysm, is a bit odd. Or is this just the droids' mythology, and they aren't really post-clysm?

I like the idea of a post-Singularity world like this, but I think you may be right in that we're not getting the whole story. After all, if all the 'creators' left at the Singularity, where do the humans that the robots adopt come from?

How much of their religion is actually true is one of the series' ongoing questions.
