Batman Day- BATMAN #604: I am Bruce Wayne
Jul. 23rd, 2014 02:05 pmSo, it's Batman Day, huh?
BATMAN #600, the final part of "Bruce Wayne: Murderer" had Batman say "There is no Bruce Wayne," get into a fistfight with Nightwing, and then run away to one of the mini-caves around Gotham. Also, Jason's memorial case got smashed because that's what happens when there is a fight in the Batcave. And then "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" starts This is to provide context.
BATMAN #604, "Reasons," by Ed Brubaker and Scott McDaniel.

Disguised!Bruce vs. Stan the Albino Pimp. Stan was killed in CATWOMAN: HER SISTER'S KEEPER when trying to kill Selina Kyle's sister.

The Mark of Zorro is playing at the Monarch Theater. I believe Monarch Theater was first done in the 1989 Batman movie, and is one of those things that just entered continuity. In fact, "the Monarch Theater" is the biggest part of the 1989 movie to enter mainstream continuity.
And we get the traumatic flashback.
Batman chases a group of clowns (former Joker henchmen). Catwoman shows up and helps out. The clowns want to shoot "Tony the Turk" in the knee. Batman goes to save Tony while Catwoman handles the rest of the gang.
Batman saves Tony from getting killed by getting shot repeatedly in his logo. Batman gets shot so often his chest emblem is off. The cops come and Batman and Selina take off.
