It turns out Beast knows where Scott's been all this time thanks to Cerebro, but he hasn't said anything because he didn't want anything to do with him.







This isn't the first time Bendis has done something with Xavier and Mystique, a flashback in All-New X-Men #27 showed her giving birth to his child (who would grow up in the future to become the villainous Kid X from Battle of the Atom).

Iceman: Wait, what?!? Scott's been a wanted fugitive for months, has been building his own mutant militia, and in case you all forgot, KILLED THE PROFESSOR! And you knew where he was all this time and didn't tell anyone?!?

Beast: Look, I'm just trying to stay as far away from that lunatic as possible.

Storm: Yeah Bobby, I agree with Hank. Who knows what violent, deranged plot Scott's coming up with next?

*Meanwhile, at the New Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted, Cyclops is eating breakfast while reading the newspaper*

Cyclops: *laughs* Oh Family Circus, you never cease to amuse me with your witty captions.

seriously... i am tired of the scott hate... he has done nothing BUT attend rallies, protect new mutants, and defend himself when others attacked his people. yes, he killed Xavier, while possessed... by a being he would never have gotten possesed by if... no, wait.. nevermind... i can't go there again....

...Actually, he's probably the most appropriately dressed since he's the only one not wearing spandex/bondage gear.

Hmmm... I kinda like how the tron-lines on Cyke's costume glow,
still not a fan of it per se, but it's something.

And as per usual, Scott and his bunch comes off as far less dickish than the other team,
though I take some happiness from seeing Storm act as the leader rather than Logan.

Depending on where this fits in WRT Wolverine's comic, Storm would probably wind toss him into the nearest river if he tried to say he was in charge.

All things considered, isn't Professor X revealing yet another previously unheard of mega-mutant who could totally ruin everything, and also that he totally did some morally ambiguous stuff to keep them under wraps the least interesting premise this story could have?

Execution is everything of course, but frankly I'd be much more interested in just seeing what Professor X would actually will these people and what it says about his relationship with each one of them.

Yeah, no, I'm starting to realise Bendis can be quite weak as a writer. It doesn't help that I'm following his tumblr, so a lot of the time it feels as though he's just hyping his story choices up and never really delivering. Uncanny has had good moments, but is so stale.

I looove how Bendis left out the fact that Ororo and Logan knew about Scott already just to have them act petty to make Cyclops look cool. The JGS gets no direction just so they can draw out this poor rebel with a heart of gold Cyclops where no one understands him nonsense and all the JGS are allowed to do is gasp and growl and bicker. Its not surprising that when fans asked in Marvel Q and As whether or not the JGS would get a direction outside of that group the Grrs at Cyclops were ignored for silly questions. Rather telling. I cant wait and see how he portrays Kurt in this since he's supposed to have a role. I hope he remembers Aaron's last issue of Amazing. I love how fans act like the JGS are acting totally in character and have always been tools to the greatness of Cyclops and that its not character assassinations to prop up the company pet fave. Oh and this arc will garauntee the X-men will never be the same again yada yada yada, well maybe not for Cyclops but its back to more infighting for the rest of the X-Men.

And as for the revelation? Oh brother.

Blame Jason Aaron, it was his title that had Wolverine and co acting like self-righteous assholes about Scott all the time (and the whole reason why Beast joined his school in the first place was so he could stick it to Scott), Bendis is just using their established characterization.



And the only way that Wolverine story makes sense is if this story takes place before that; Cyclops deliberately chose the last place Wolverine would look, and that story acted like it was common knowledge.

Hey who knows, Bendis may prove me wrong with this story. He WAS one of my favorite writers.
