To be honest, a bunch of lower tier super-villains helping out in an alien invasion or something like FEAR ITSELF makes sense. The final episode of JLU is a good example.

How do you think the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants managed to stay in funds?

Magneto flew off with a pallet-load of Nazi gold when he and Charles broke up?

I'm also pretty sure Nat never went around blasting an AK in public, so I don't think accuracy is high on Overdrive's list, here.

Overdrive is owned by Marvel.

Marvel is owned by Disney.

Tangled is owned by Disney.

THEREFORE....

Overdrive should go join the singalong at the Snuggly Duckling. http://youtu.be/wbVlGESh9Mc

Science.

I can just imagine Sabretooth's verse...

"I'm malicious, mean and scary
My sneer can curdle dairy,
and, violence-wise, my hands are not the cleanest

But despite my evil jaws,
and my temper, and my claws
I've always yearned to be a concert pianist!"

This dude needs to hang out with Razorback, who started his intro issue fighting Spider-Man because his understanding of New York culture was that superheroes fight each other in order to become friends.

based on what my cousin says, that is a general new york thing, not just a superhero thing...

This really is the best origin/motive for any villain ever, and is probably why this is one of the best things Marvel have right now.

Let's all thank Kurt Busiek for giving us the Thunderbolts as an in-universe concept.

Thanks for the coverage! One thing: I'm not sure if it's a policy here to only credit one person or if that was just a slip. On Superior Foes of Spider-Man, Nick Spencer and I are co-credited as "storytellers" and the color artist is Rachelle Rosenberg. Also, that top page was drawn by Rich Ellis.

(Sorry for nagging about this. It's just that there's an awful tendency these days to write about comics as if they're the work of a writer, who is significant, and one or more disposable art-bots, who contribute nothing.)

As a caution when discussing the book, I always warn people that we're full of horrible continuity errors. Most of what happens in Superior Foes is told by Boomerang, the most unreliable narrator imaginable. I like to think much of this book takes place in a parallel existence known as "the liarverse."
