From Infinity: Heist #1

Spymaster recruited Whirlwind, Blizzard, Whiplash, Unicorn, Firebrand, and Titanium Man to rob Tony Stark during Infinity. Suddenly Blizzard collapsed.

From Infinity: Heist #2

From Infinity: Heist #4

The robbery didn't go as planned. Spymaster was in cahoots with some Kree invaders, so the rest of the gang teamed up with Tony Stark to save Earth. Blizzard discovered his Inhuman powers, he can power things up and overload them, defeated the invaders, and helped his friends escape.

We next see Blizzard, Whirlwind, and Whiplash in Elektra #6

Uhhhhhhh, is that joke about the Wasp costume a reference to the infamous Geoff Johns Avengers issue where Whirlwind tried to rape Janet?

Wait what? How come I've never heard of this save his "de-evolved" She-Hulk, Hank/Janet's wild sexcapades, and Red Skull arc.

>Hank/Janet's wild sexcapades

It's in that issue. Whirlwind crashes their sexcapades and tries to rape her. A naked Hank stops him.

Oh. :o That reference would be in bad taste.

It seems to be more a reference to pretty much every time Whirlwind has encountered Wasp; he's always super creepy with her.

Whirlwind has been obsessed with Janet since his first appearance (when he was her chauffeur), so I doubt it's that specific, just a general reference to his freaky obsession (I wasn't aware of an attempted rape... though given my opinion of Geoff Jones writing, that doesn't really surprise me, alas)

He also pretended to be her chauffeur for months back in the eighties. He's always been a little crazy for Janet Van Dyne. Johns took it a little bit farther, too far, in my opinion.

I thought he *was* her driver before he got his powers?

He's a mutant. First fought the Wasp and Giant-Man back in Tales to Astonish. He did become Janet's chauffeur back in the 1960's when she came into her money, and he's always had a fixation on her.

I wonder if Donnie becoming Inhuman is a reference to the Agents of SHIELD show where he also gained powers.

I did too at first. Till I remembered that he had several opportunities to go straight, and he's always fallen back into crime. Taking a brief look at his history in the comics, it's no wonder Iron Man is just fed up with him.

Well, he was trying to do just that here. And stop Spymaster to boot. Which got him almost beaten to death. You could argue that any crime he committed after that was under duress.

Besides, It'd have been worth it just for Gorgon playing Angry Birds.

Frank Tieri is one of those writers where I have to question what kind of dirt he must have on Marvel's higher-ups, because his characters are pretty much devoid of any charisma, and EVERY event tie-in he does is basically 'supervillains do X while something big is going on. Wacky and yet somehow incredibly boring and mundane hijinx ensue', and he keeps getting work.. It's like the guy REALLY wants to make Superior Foes of Spider-Man, but just doesn't quite have the sense of humour, talent or the ability to make references. I mean, calling someone 'Doctor Mengele'? That's... Entirely tasteless and crazily overboard for a joke about someone with a shitty bedside manner.

"Tasteless and crazily overboard" is a pretty good way of describing Tieri.

He was the guy who, when Garth Ennis wrote a parody of Wolverine in his Marvel Knights Punisher series (pointing out that he was a ridiculous catchphrase-spouting, cliche-ridden mess of a character at that point in time), Tieri (who was the writer of Wolverine's solo at the time) responding by writing his own Punisher vs. Wolverine fight...

...Where Wolverine beat the crap out of the Punisher for several pages straight, only stopping when he finds that Frank has a bunch of "men's work out magazines" in a bag, which Castle protests are for research. Logan then basically calls Frank gay and walks off.

So yeah, dude decided to use homophobia as a means of saying why Wolverine totes is a serious character guys!

While the rest of it is meh, I have to say that I do find the idea of keeping a prisoner asleep while telepathically letting them live out a fantasy world where they have a shot at redemption kind-of an interesting idea to play with; what happens if they prove they've completely changed for the better? Do you let them out and into the free world? Would you let them know they were living a fantasy world, or would that risk pushing them into forgoing any actual redemption? What if they realize its a fantasy while inside?

I kinda like the idea.

Except I sincerely doubt such a person waking up to discover that their minds have been laid open and messed with by telepaths and everything that had experienced, despite feeling 100% real, was actually a fantasy, would feel that siding with people who would do such a thing (without any apaprent reference to the actual legal system) would be a VERY bad idea and that maybe crime wasn't so bad since although some villains might be bastards, they're usually upfront about their intent.

Never mind the risks of some sort of breakdown since you would no longer be able to tell fact from fantasy with 100% confidence. "Don't worry, I didn't really kill him, after all this is just a fantasy"

Well yeah, its obviously a system that wouldn't work in real life, precisely because its so morally reprehensible; I just think it'd make for an interesting plot device for a story.
