The Marvel vs DC trading cards had Peter Parker giving the bios on the DC characters, and Clark giving the bios on the Marvel characters. So I kinda imagined this thing going on behind the scenes.
I got a little lost last night, thinking up a combined Planet/Bugle newsroom... which characters would sta, which would go... Peter flirting with Lois instead of Betty Brant, Jimmy serving as Pete's photography rival instead of Lance or Nick... Jonah and Robbie running the whole shebang instead of Perry... it was a lot of cracky fun.
My mind went somewhere similar. And then Jimmy Olsen, frustrated by Peter Parker always getting the better photo, bonded with the Venom symbiote...
...and, it being Jimmy, the story took a turn for the absurd and ended with a life lesson delivered by Superman (if it wasn't engineered by him in the first place).
Perhaps Peter views it like "The Devil Wears Prada"; a few years working with JJJ both hones his skills as a photographer (And JJJ is a good editor, he knows the sort of pictures that will, and do, sell papers) and means he can basically walk out of there into any job he wants.
Hahahah! That first MJ Lois Lane panel makes it looks like the villains had forced them into some sort of bizarre zero gravity pole dancing exhibition!
But aww that's a nice ending with them them all walking into the sunset arm in arm. Warms your heart, so it does! :)
Yeah, a pretty nice ending there! Imagine, a story where no one got eviscerated, beheaded or killed! And no blood at all! Jeez, what were they thinking in the '70s? ;)
Sad how the passing of times changes things, eh? Not to mention that, nowadays, the Luthor/Ock paradigm would be flipped so Ock was willing to destroy the world and Luthor would be working to save it...

Peter, what's wrong with you? Quit! The Daily Planet pays better!
