(Basically the red crystal holds the essence of Morlun's father)



Spider-Man brings him to "Uncle Ben"'s dimension which is filled with radiation which is toxic to Morlun and co. Morlun says that this will kill him, and Spider-Man tells him to go to the bomb shelter. It will keep him alive, but barely.

I did NOT see the death of the master weaving coming. Kinda makes you wonder if the weaver itself saw it coming? Man.....thats gotta have some major reprecusions for the multiverse.

Did Kane make it? Please tell me Kane lived.

He appeared to have died last issue but it's ambiguous. We'll find out next issue.

That was an incredibly underwhelming ending. Most of the conflicts were solved off screen, Peter never did anything really relevant and lots of wasted opportunities.

May scenes were great but well, I was expecting more from an ending you know?

Is equally parts amusing and depressing that the mobile game managed to do more with the multiple spidermen concept.

Wait the mobile version of Spiderverse is better than the comic, if it isn't written by Slott must be an improvement.

To me the biggest issue was that a lot of stuff was going on in other titles. I mean for example Karn turning over a new leaf and deciding to help the Spider-Men occurred in the Spider-Verse anthology. Ben Reilly, Kaine and Ultimate Jessica destroying the cloning machine happened in the Scarlet Spiders miniseries. A lot of the character interactions also occurred elsewhere.

On one hand I get that there's only so much space to tell a story but on the other I look at something like Civil War which, as much as people here hate it, still managed to tell a self-contained story with the tie-in titles fleshing out their respective characters as opposed to major events and deaths occurring outside of the main mini.

The "Previously on" text for this issue says that he died. Buuuut being an actual buried and/or eaten corpse hasn't stopped Kaine before, so. Maybe next issue they can give his corpse a good prodding with a stick.

If Kaine is actually 100% for really-reals dead after all, I will curl into a ball and cry. My Grumpy Spider!

Spider-UK in the mobile game is ADORABLE. (He's adorable in the comics too.) And the Spider-Punk event today has Ben Reilly & Kaine talking to each other. MY CLONE BABIES.

I think that was mainly for May sparing his father which Daemos is shown to be pretty attached to.

Really underwhelming. Not really sold on Spider-Man/Silk. (Especially with the new Spider-Man film reboot coming.)

And then with the death of the Master Weaver, all of the Spider-People killed by the Morluns came back to life, thereby rendering this entire event as completely & utterly pointless.

Has the Master Weaver ever appeared before this story? There are so many darned cosmic entities and high muckkity-mucks around these days that I'm not sure another one will be missed much.

Spider-Man and Silk will never work for me, mostly because of the questionable consent issues with their pheromone thing, especially after she tried to basically bully him into leaving New York with them.

Even if they get rid of that aspect completely and have them hook up 'legitimately', it'll be super creepy for me still.

The effects are mutual and both are aware of the pheromones' effect and are able to resist it for the most part. I'm not seeing the creepy factor here. It's not like she's using it to seduce someone who's unwitting.

I'm fairly certain she's going to try to eat him at some point. (not neccessarily voluntarily, but I mean, it's RIGHT THERE)

Wouldn't be surprised if Karn's first course of action as the new Master Weaver (come on, it's obvious that's what's coming next), other than hopefully unceremoniously mindwiping Otto and dumping him back in time before he can bullshit an out, is reviving the slain, because it's still a really fucking depressing ending otherwise.

But then there's a Spider-Verse Secret Wars spinoff with Mayday prominently featured, so I guess she doesn't get to go home just yet. I suspect Arachnia on Battleworld will be the chunk of Loomworld with all the Spiders on it who couldn't go home for whatever reason. Or they're actually pulling the 'Spider-verse Mayday is different from MC2 Mayday' card, since we know that's MC2 is on Battleworld from A-Next showing up in teasers.

And it's not by Slott, so it might in fact be passable! Whereas Renew Your Vows/One More Day is his playground so urgghhhhh.

the whole "Spider-Totem" concept as well as the weaver came around...i think JMS's run. before One More Day came and screwed things a lot.

you know if they really want a scene where Otto can show up Peter he should tell him something like "If you would have killed me it would have been more merciful for you, myself, and the world."

JMS introduced the totems but the Weaver came from Slott.
