Punk Rock Jesus #2

“One thing I'd like to be clear about: Punk Rock Jesus isn't a book about atheism nor am I grinding my ax. My wife is religious and so are my parents, and I'd be stunned if they didn't enjoy this book. There's a character in the book for everyone--at least that's how I've tried to write it. Nothing would bother me more if I had Christian readers who stopped being Sean Murphy fans because of Punk Rock Jesus.” – Sean Murphy

Let’s continue on with a look at Punk Rock Jesus. Here’s the second issue:
The comic does opens with seeing NAC (Nation American Christian group) try to infiltrate the island where Gwen and Chris are located with weapons, but they all pretty much stopped before they can reach it by Thomas and his team.
Elsewhere on the island…

Of course, living on a sheltered island with millions of people watching you every day and the fact that her parents do not visit her or their grandchild at all (nor have shown any interest) does seem to be having a bad effect on poor Gwen…

Gwen is freaking out and admits to Thomas that it was no miracle and she accidentally gave her baby wine from the secret bottle that Slate provided her. She says she is a bad mother and tries to escape the place, only to crash a car into the security gates when she tries leaving. Realizing she needs to get out and go somewhere quiet for once, Thomas helps her escape the island and the two of them go to her parents’ home far away. But sadly…

So with that sight, the two of them leave and go somewhere else…

There’s a bit more after that and also a lot of characterization I had to gloss over, but that’s the second issue in a nutshell. What did you think?
