As part of their marketing strategy for promoting their comics debuting in June, DC Comics will be releasing a series of 8-page previews throughout this month for their upcoming titles.
We were recently inquired about how much of these previews can be posted to the community given our 1/3 rule, which is a very good question. After discussing it over on the mod comm, we've all reached the consensus that because DC Comics officially approved the free distribution of these pages to promote their new comics debuting in June, we will actually allow the previews to be posted in full.
We do want to emphasise, however, that when the actual comics do get released, the 1/3 rule still applies. If the previews are part of the main full issue, posting all 8 pages will fulfil the 1/3 rule (and a page more) of our community, and you will not be able to post more pages from the comic when it gets released. If you are absolutely confident that all of the best moments of the new comic are in the preview pages, you are welcome to post them all. If you feel that there could be better moments in the full issue, you are still welcome to only post a few pages from the preview with a link to the rest of the preview if you want to save space for future pages.
If the 8-page preview turns out to be a standalone story completely independent of the actual issue, you are free to post all 8-pages with the goal of promoting the new series like DC intends. When the actual issue gets released, any pages posted from the full issue will follow the usual 4-page per poster rule, or until 1/3 of the issue has been shared by various posters. We won't penalise anyone for posting all 8-pages of the standalone preview story in addition to 1/3 of the main issue.
On a similar note, we would like to remind everyone that when posting preview panels or pages outside of the cut, they must be no bigger than 400 x 300 pixels. Any size above that must be place underneath the cut.
Thanks everyone, and have a marvellous weekend!
