A few years ago I broke out my old Justice League comics to read them again, and honestly I found most of the bwahahaha era to be...mediocre. Other than the beautiful art I found it just wasn't that memorable.

I personally never cared for that era even while it was going on but looking back at it IMO it hasn't aged very well at all.

The Despero storyline holds up pretty well, but that was the one time Giffen & DeMatteis did a really serious story arc. (And of course, Adam Hughes art doesn't exactly hurt...)

I agree. It's...well, it's got its moments, but...yeah, not great. So I'm a bit worried that this seems to be heading towards becoming Bwahaha 2.0....

It just feels like these guys are bitter that someone ruined their favorite characters (and yeah, I kind've agree they did; Blue Beetle's death and Maxwell Lord being revealed as a master schemer were terrible creative decisions, IMO), but I don't think rehasing the past like this is the way to go. This current trend in JL3K feels like Keith and JM have no new ideas and are reliving their glory days, kind of like, I dunno, Frank Miller writing a third Dark Knight comic.

Well, the 'jerk' part was a given at this point- in my head, he's voiced by Breckin Meyer -and from his attitude thus far, it makes sense that he'd take a stubborn, bass-ackwards 'A is A' mentality to gender identity.

Seems like. Or he's just really shallow and focused on outward appearances, like how he keeps forgetting he and the rest aren't REALLY the Justice League, and he's not REALLY Superman.

He's been a pretty heavily misogynistic jerk throughout the series so it's not a surprise at this point. Though I don't say that in a bad way, it's just the character they went with.

Superman 3k is a jerk of pretty much any stripe you can imagine, so this is not surprising. (What is surprising is Terri (who's not usually a jerk) seems to take both sides in different conversations, so I don't know what Giffen and DeMatteis actually intend...)
