Between SUPERBOY, FANTASTIC FOUR and AVENGERS ACADEMY, Tom Grummett does great superhero stuff that makes you GLAD to read superhero stuff. He doesn't do "Superhero comics are bad and you should feel bad" artwork.

In retrospect, I think this particular run was the last great classic Avengers run. (I know it's Thunderbolts, but they're practically an Avengers title. Hawkeye even led the team!)

I'm not trying to knock Bendis or Hickman, nor say that there haven't been other good runs. I loved the Hank Pym Mighty Avengers, myself.

But this run just has that classic feel. Heros going after villains, teams being built up organically and logically. Characters having plots and stories outside of the immediate. You don't get that from the modern Avengers these days.

I really love this run, and this is a great reminder on why Songbird has been deserving to be an Avenger for *decades* now.
