He's not like those in the other parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

He doesn't have followers- he's a loner.

He doesn't have ambitions- he's uncomplicated.

He's evil, but not grandiosely so. He just has murderous urges that he likes to indulge.

He's Yoshikage Kira- well, he was Yoshikage Kira, until he was found. To escape justice, he stole the life and face of another man, stepping into his shoes.

He became the husband of a woman named Shinobu, who suddenly ran out of the basement and into his arms- partly to hug the man she'd recently become re-attracted to, and partly out of fear.

She told him how the foreign cat'd sat there and rebuffed her attempts to drive it away.

When she swung a broom at it, she said, it'd " jumped way up to the ceiling!

" And then when I looked closely.. right there in the cat's neck.

" There was a hole! It was big enough to stick a coin in it! "

(He's wondering if it was from the kind of arrow that awakens a Stand power in whatever living thing it pierces.)

He went down into the basement.

" It's dead. "

" Huh?

" ..

" ?

" ..

" Did.. you just say it was dead? "

So he buried it out back.

The next day, it came back:

It remembered only that it had been shot by an arrow two days ago, and that it'd sought shelter from the rain in the nearest house.

(The arrow in question'd been the one owned by the Stand-preserved spirit of Kira's dad, who was going around with it making Stand users to go after the people going after his son.

If you're wondering what other than parental love would motivate someone to do that, well.. he got the arrow from Dio Brando's servant Enya, so he was clearly no stranger to evil.)

It set out to groom itself, and noticed some things wrong.

Then it tried to catch a fly:

Then it noticed Shinobu come out of the house, and wondered why it recognized her.

It saw her looking for where her husband'd buried the cat she'd killed, broom in hand, and remembered the one who'd left it on a floor covered in glass and blood.

It raged at her:

She ran back into the house, afraid that the cat's spirit was taking vengeance on her.

The thing that'd been the cat sat there and reveled in the power it'd just discovered.

It thought of how it'd hurt the one who'd hurt it more.

Then it was noticed by Kira.

" So.. "

He tried to find out exactly what it was.

He concluded that it was the cat he'd buried yesterday, brought back like this because of its Stand.

Then Shinobu came out and asked him if he'd buried the cat there, where she'd hurt her foot.

He realized that the cat-thing had a grudge against her, and that it wouldn't be good for him if she came closer to it:

(He's wary of Jotaro because he got an ORAORAORAing from him that's one of the reasons I'm eagerly awaiting the Diamond is Unbreakable adaptation.)

The cat-thing saw her inching closer and prepared to attack.

Kira noticed, and summoned his Stand Killer Queen to take care of it:

He triggered the bomb.. and it didn't trigger.

He was surprised, as surprised as Shinobu was at the cat-thing:

The thing attacked her again:

Kira noted the delayed explosion, then came to Shinobu's defense:

He considered the cat-thing's powers and concluded that they were to control the air around it (because the only way Killer Queen's bomb couldn't have ignited was if it was in a vacuum).

He tried taking a more direct tack..

.. and failed.

The thing exercised its powers again, shooting another air bullet. It blew up a nearby cactus; Kira shielded Shinobu from the flying thorns, and wondered why he felt relieved at having protected her.

(That's as far as this goes in suggesting Kira might feel anything more about the life he's stolen than that it's his hiding place.)

He noticed what the cat-thing seemed so happy about:

Unable to stop the air bullet it'd shot in there from getting to his heart with just his fingers, he called on his Stand:

The bullet floated out of him, leaving him wounded and wondering what he could do against the cat-thing's abilities.

It readied itself to attack again..

.. and forwent that in favor of playing with a golf ball.

So it was that the main villain saved himself and his wife-by-impersonation from a murderous cat-thing with a golf ball just lying around in their backyard.

That wasn't the end of the thing, though- he dug it out (presumably when he discovered that, being plant-like, it went dormant without sunlight) and kept it hidden away in the attic.

He did that for a reason he revealed after his "son" Hayato (who'd figured out that his dad was not his dad) got him to reveal his true identity within hearing range of the people looking for him:

(The name he gave it's taken from the band.

What he's talking about happened because of the ability Bites The Dust, which his Stand developed after he got pierced by his dad's arrow again.

His hair also changed because of that.)

In the battle that followed, he used his mathematical talents to figure out when best to detonate the cat-thing's bullets:

(This's a great bit because of how it underlines how relatively low-key he is. Unlike the abilities of other major JoJo villains, his aren't so much terrifying because of what they are as they are terrifying because of how he uses them and whom in conjunction he uses them with.

What makes it, and this final fight, really good is that the heroes are in the same boat. Their abilities are likewise powerful but limited; it's no exaggeration to say that Kira's final defeat is a team effort.

Oh yes, page count- 6 of 19 from chapter 392 of JJBA, 5 of 19 from chapter 393, 6 of 19 from chapters 394 and 395, 1 of 19 from chapter 427, and 2/3rds of 19 from chapter 430.)

Part 2 and Part 4 are the best Jojo parts, hands down. Screw Jotaro.

I like 'em more than 3 as well.

IMO 3 starts well and ends well and has way too many random-stand-battles in between, of which only some are good. 4, too, gets a bit much into random battles, but I find the heroes' stands more creative (healing and sound).

I love me some Jotaro, but Giorno is my favorite so far(I am halfway through Stone Ocean).

Man JoJo is so damn amazing. Seriously the level of thought and imagination in this series is almost beyond belief.
