I love how Diana is like "Awesome The Specter is here."

Then it quickly turns to "Oh shit The Specter is here."

As awesome as it would be to see Specter put the fear of God into Joe Mcarthy and his goons, this is pretty much the definition of "You are not helping."

Ah yes, the Spectre, the absolute best guy to show up in the middle of a trial. Very helpful.

Avengers? Wimps. Justice League? Second rate. A team that has the Spectre is automatically the strongest team in the multiverse. Justice Society: mightiest group of heroes...ever.

Yeah, but the problem with an omnipotent character on your team is that they're not so much a member of your team, but more that your team is adjacent to him.

Because really, The Specter makes the entire JSA superfulous.

Of course, this is the team with a guy who keeps a 5th dimensional genie in his pen, so omnipotence is relative.

Complicated by the fact that the Spectre often has problems bringing his full power to bear on the target, for various plot-related reasons. (Though, given what that full power entails ... this may be a feature, not a flaw.)

Is the Void (Sentry counterpart) the equivalent of the Spectre? I recall there was an implication the Void was responsible for the final plague of Egypt, and Spectre held a similar role.

At least in one DC/Marvel crossover, the Marvel equivelent of the Spectre was the Living Tribunal.

You gotta admire the senator's tenacity there. The all powerful, living incarnation of God's Wrath just manifested in the room and threatened to annihilate the entire human race, and his reaction is to try and have him arrested.

So I take it at some point here we're going to find out why Dick, who knows every single one of the JSA almost as well as he knew Bruce, is somehow blindly pushing ahead with this despite the obvious fact that it stinks to high heaven?

Also, smearing Bruce's good name in order to protect living innocents? We're talking about the same Bruce Wayne here who deliberately cultivated the image of a layabout drunken playboy useless spoilt rich kid just to divert attention away from the fact that Batman's R&D budget alone outweighs the GDP of a small country and there's only one company in Gotham that could make that kind of money disappear in a rounding error?

Alternately, the same Bruce Wayne that swapped a kid's blood sample with his own, putting his secret identity at risk of detection if anyone ever thought to check it, just to break a data trail and give the kid a chance at a normal life?

While I kind of raise an eyebrow at Dick believing that the JSA is guilty of what Bruce accused them of, it does show his unshakable loyalty to Bruce. They could fight and not even speak to each other for lengths of time, but they were still undeniably loyal to each other.
