Scheduled to launch in December, All-New Inhumans will be the second Inhumans team title in the "All-New All Different Marvel" alongside Uncanny Inhumans (and taking the place of Inhuman). The series is written by Charles Soule along with James Asmus, and illustrated by Stefano Caselli.

“All-New Inhumans in particular will focus on the strange and dangerous complications that come from a global unleashing of NuHumans,” said Soule. “This book will be the number one way to see exactly how the Marvel Universe is changing as the Terrigen Cloud moves through the world. It’s about getting into countries hit by the cloud--through any means necessary--to help those who need it, and stop those out to kill/exploit/harvest their fellow NuHumans. But of course, new teams and global politics being what they are, there are a million ways for even the best intentions to go wrong. And maybe not everyone on our team has the best intentions to begin with…”

Crystal will lead a team comprised of fellow classic Inhuman Gorgon, along with NuHumans Flint, Naja and Grid. They are investigating the appearance of strange obelisks called "Skyspears" that have appeared across Earth that magnify Inhumans' abilities.

“Skyspears are big obelisk-type artifacts that have appeared in or near population centers all around the globe,” explains Soule. “They can't be moved, or damaged, or even really affected in any way. Their purpose is part of a pretty long play, but the All-New Inhumans will definitely be involved with their ongoing story.”

Soule describes All-New Inhumans as "smaller in scope" than Uncanny Inhumans, which he said focuses on "the more epic conflicts of the Inhuman Royal Family." This new series will be more "personal," looking to build up its cast and the new crop of Inhumans recently introduced.

As a fan of 90's Avengering, I'm really glad to see Crystal finally being dusted off. She was, at one time, the most prominent Inhuman, and her absence thus far in the latest Inhuman focus has been baffling.

Now if we can only get cosmic Marvel to remember Wendell...

They are staking a lot on that movie being successful. Then again, if the next X-Men film is as badly cut as FantFourStic, then Fox might just do the job for them...

I still don't get why Marvel has jumped the gun the way they have. Like, rolling out a bunch of Inhumans stuff around the movie would make sense, but the movie is still years off and the Inhumans seem to have largely failed to catch on. As others have put it, the Inhumans are the "fetch" of the Marvel Universe.

I think it's a bad marketing strategy, but I don't think the Inhumans themselves are unsellable. The problem is that they're taking the same approach that AT&T and alike took when they came up with videophones in the 80s-90s, i.e., "We have this thing, it's cool, so buy it". They should be trying something more akin to Apple's marketing from the early 00's for everything, not least phones with video cameras in them - leading from why the customer would *need* the product rather than from why they'd want it.

Unfortunately, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who considers the Inhumans absolutely essential. Even despite all the new developments, they just don't have the same appeal as the X-Men.

Exactly, once that movie comes out, Marvel can position the Inhumans as a must read series, thanks to the massive publicity boost and the fact that the film will have positioned the Inhumans as being a Big Deal in the mutantless MCU. As it stands in the comics right now, the Inhumans are just a nakedly cynical attempt to replace the X-Men, and with the X-Men are still around to read about, the Inhumans are unnecessary.

And you absolutely know that the instant Fox crumbles and let's them have whole or partial control over the rights again, the X-Men will once again take centre spotlight and the Inhumans will all cluster on "Attilan 3" and float away, never to be heard again except in guest appearances...

I don't actually think that Fox's failure with the X-movies is inevitable. A couple of clunkers aside, the franchise is relatively on track under Bryan Singer's direction and it's got a diverse enough history that it can support a shared universe and they're not likely to run out of stories anytime soon.

Either way, I do agree that once the corporate drama settles down Marvel will start to quietly downplay the Inhumans. The only question is how long that'll take in the comics. Like I said, Fox could hold onto the rights for a good long time, and I don't know if the Disney executives would ever "get over it" so to speak.

Did it though? Sure the Bendis penned relaunch happened before the movie, but it certainly didn't explode to the extent of having multiple spinoffs until after the movie came out, whereas the Inhumans have been present from the start as a ready made franchise.

Maybe they want a huge backlog of Inhuman TPBs ready when the movie comes out, so they can strike while the iron is hot. Consider, by the time most of these new Guardians of the Galaxy spin-offs get their first trades out, it'll be over a year since that film was released.

I think it's not necessarily a movie thing, but they feel having started an inhuman push- back at the time Kamala started- they're better off continuing it and trying to grow it, rather than inhumans, no inhumans, then dust them off when the movie hits.

I think this is like the third team line-up that Marvel's announced for this book. I mean, it looks cool, but this book seems to have taken quite some time to find its legs, even behind the scenes.

The designs are cool though, and hopefully Crystal taking the lead will mean that someone at Marvel finally realized they could use her powers to copy the Avatar series.

I've enjoyed Inhuman from Soule, but why is he ripping off Ellis' Trees?

I was going to raise the same point. Very strange but it looks like it's going to go in a different direction what with the "magnification of powers" aspect.

That was my first thought too! It's such a naked swipe, like you couldn't have made them Stonehenge rings or something just to TRY and hide it?

On the plus side, Crystal looks fantastic and she is long overdue for a return to relevance. I actually did a double take when I saw that pic, it is almost exactly like a redesign I did for her when I used her in a roleplaying game a thousand years ago...synchronicity! :)

I really like all the Inhuman looks shown here actually (though I'm not at all interested in the direction Marvel's taken the inhumans lately so I won't be getting this).

Kind of ironic since Ellis is writing an Inhumans-related project too (the upcoming Karnak, which sounds like it could be amazing).

I hope that Soule addresses Black Bolt breaking up Crystal's marriage. She hasn't been seen since then, has she?

She guest starred in one issue of All New X-Factor and worked out a custody agreement with Quicksilver because Luna wanted to see him.

Not that she really gave much thought about Luna when she was with Ronan

is THAT why she got the ugly hair cut? like you see in all the anime and manga, female characters go out and get a hair cut to cut away the memories of a bad break up?

Does Marvel think if they keep on throwing more Inhumans series at the wall, it'll eventually stick?

I like Soule's writing a lot. But I'm not sold on the Inhumans on the whole.
I'm okay with Marvel using Inhumans as the new shorthand origin for new characters like Ms. Marvel, but as a collective, it feels like Marvel is trying way too hard.
