Last issue we saw the start of Darkseid's clash with the Antimonitor, the two forces seem even but when Grail blinds Kalibak and the Justice League start to interfere, Darkseid makes a decision with serious consequences....

















Now Darkseid lies dead but 'The Darkseid War' isn't over yet......

I must admit, as much as I think Grail looks stupid and giving the Mobius Chair a backstory is unnecessary, I'm actually way more interested in this story than probably any previous one from Johns' Justice League run. It's got big weird concepts, pleasing fanservice mashups (The Flash as the Black Racer! Batman as Mobius!) and the hero are actually fighting villains rather than feuding among themselves.

The Mobius Chair was kind of pivotal even back in the day, when it represented Mobius' withdrawal into contemplation and obtaining knowledge over activity in the world, and the elements of its creation led to Darkseid getting Boom Tube technology.

Sure it represented something, but it was never previously depicted as having a history separate from Metron. "Mobius Chair" was only ever a name, so this is a bit like revealing that the Hyundai Elantra was developed by the mysterious and enigmatic Doctor Seymour Elantra.

Does the line "THE ANTI-LIFE EQUATION IS IN MY VEINS!" remind anyone else of the scene from Angel where Marcus Hamilton (Adam Baldwin) and Angel were fighting, Hamilton gloats about the power of the Senior Partners "flows through my veins" and how his "blood is filled with their ancient power"... and then Angel remembers he's a vampire and chows down on him, gaining that same power?

Seeing Allen as a tool for other overlords is rather satisfying given the multiversal crime he's committed without punishment I look forward to Allen being KO every chance he's portrayed in Justice League though being killed off would be preferable.

Okay seriously, no mod is stepping in asking for the cover resize by now?...I did this exact same thing on MY very first post (Deadpool wearing the meat suit) and I was CRUCIFIED beyond belief!!!
