A shame you didn't show more of Rose Tattoo; She didn't get nearly enough play in this story given the implications of her abilities and her role, but I loved how Brubaker and Nguyen brought her back and made her a parallel of sorts to the Century Babies; a Spirit of Murder, a more subtle approach than Ellis' gun-toting mute, changing and adjusting with the times and - naturally - boasting a complicated tattoo design that only their initial artist could really be bothered to draw properly.
I do get the impression that Bendix's motivations were retconned since now he was a known-baddie... I don't remember too clearly, but I didn't think this was what he was like before.
They basically did just that, as I recall. This Bendix was the original Weatherman, who went off into the Bleed with the Carrier he was given by another Henry Bendix who was technically the 'finer world'-obsessed madman who Jenny Sparks eventually killed - the trade was that 'original' Bendix got to go and explore while 'finer world' flavour Bendix reworked this world from Stormwatch. The original Bendix then returned after the other's death, and was retconned to be more of a villain from the get-go. I think it's explained in the next issue, but there's definitely a retcon in there.
