You can't ruin anything that ends with megazords/ giant robots/or voltron....unless your digimon xros wars. I assume this is a secret wars book? Are any of the nova riders here regular marvel characters?

Yes, this is a Secret Wars tie-in. I believe these are all original characters for the story, and not people whom show up regularly.

Yeah, Thanos biggest weakness has always been that he subconsciously self sabotages himself by looking over obvious ruses and not utilizing his cosmic powers to their fullest to avoid crap like this.

Its basically like a built in idiot ball.

I don't even know how the continuity works right now, but Thanos himself made a fake Reality Gem in Infinity War, so you'd think it would occur to him.

My Infinity Gem lore is lacking, granted, but I thought the Reality Gem was uncontrollable without the others present to act as control rods?

Or does the Reality "Stone" have different properties?

Like all cosmic plot devices its limits are whatever the writers need them to be.

For example how after a few years all the post infinity guantlet restrictions got forgotten about and also how the whole wrecked the ultraverse adventure and all its revelations also got swept under the rug

Not to mention, Earth-616 Black Panther has his own Infinity Gauntlet, so I imagine these gems have slightly different properties than the ones we know of.

Personally I'm still partial to the old Nova who Marvel refuses to allow to be resurrected no matter how little sense it makes.

So Thanos finally got what he wanted? Good. Way long overdue.

Did he? I know he worships the concept of Death, but assumed his ego always over-rode his nihilistic tendencies since he's never seemed suicidal (which would be the "easy" way to be with Death)

Yeah he doesn't' just want to be with her like everyone else who dies gets to be, he wants to be her equal, her paramour, her consort. The fact death never gives him what he wants only reinforces his obsession with it.

Thanos is one of those marvel villains like Doom who on the surface appears really awesome until you boil them down tow hat they actually are. (A petty stuck up jackass in doom's case or a stalker in Thanos case)

I remember reading some story about a kind of reality cancer, or something, and it turns out to be the offspring of both Thanos and Death (as she explains it)...without it being made the 'old fashioned' away, or in any way that resembles a conception.

And Thanos was pissed at being the 'baby daddy'. Search me for the reason why! It was the first bloody time I ever saw Death acknowledge him for anything, and he still hated the whole thing!

OTOH he seemed pretty pleased with dying in Annihilation. And pretty pissed when they brought him back for Thanos Imperative.

In one of the issues of 'Secret Wars' Thanos said that the only time he'd ever see his Lady Love, Hel, was when he died in the original continuity, but if died on Battleworld he'd be cheated out of that because God Doom was Death, not Hel. Or something.
