"In a way, Jason and Roy are the best thing that ever happened to one another — even if they can't always admit it to each other.

Before they met, Jason was a violent, angry vigilante with only revenge on his mind. Roy was a directionless action junkie who took ridiculous self-destructive risks. When they finally wound up in each others orbit something pretty spectacular happened to both guys.

Keeping this short and simple, especially someone already did a past post on #2, basically Red Hood and Arsenal get a mission from the lady they rescued in the first issue to recover something in Paris. Thus, it leads to this...

Then onto #3, where a problem arises.

She fires them both on the spot. Jason then asks Harper, where the heck did the money go they earned that they need to now start making more money.

"I got an e-mail this morning. We're already got our first real client!"

Such a move caused Jason to shoot him to pieces...

The issue ends with the two of them deciding to completely dismantle Underbelly's criminal organization and their first stop will be in Gotham... where Robo-Bat-Bunny-Cop is.

More next time!

..."Rent a Bat?"

Guys, you know I'm a huge Jason fan.

...But this time even I have to admit that Bruce/Dick/Tim should definitely kick his ass. Working as mercenary is good and all but don't drag the family name and dad's Mission into it. Uncool, Jason, uncool.

To be fair...it seems that this seems to be Arsenal made the commercial and did it without Jason's approval. I mean Jason is surprised that he was in the video , but then again Jason has been having the bat on him and killing people...so..

Personally, I don't think that having the bat on you and killing people are necessarily incompatible, depending on circumstances.

Jim Gordon is for all intents and purposes a member of the Batclan, and as a cop he carries a gun and can shoot at criminals if he has to. Last I checked (admittedly pre52) Batwoman was also willing to kill if absolutely necessary.

The problem with pre-Heel Face turn Jason was that he murdered criminals, as in he killed them solely for revenge. But if Jason now only kills when he has to (like when he shot the hostage-taker) then he isn't really that different from law enforcers like Gordon, especially considering that in this series he has the explicit support of the FBI.

EDIT: of course in this specific instance he definitely murdered the slimey guy. Could be a case of "What measure is a non human" though, I don't know how they act in the rest of the series.

The intent to murder was still there.
Not that I mind. Underbelly seems to be about as silly as The Slug as far as this sort of crime boss goes.

What is with all the evil fat guys, anyway? Kingpin, Whale, Slug, Shadow King, Underbelly...

Just like you, I am a Jason fan. So I am confused with the dichotomy of Jason killing and being in the bat family. I like anti-hero Jason , who's more heroic , but then again Batman is against killing no matter the issue. Then again, as you have said, Jim Gordan as Batman has used guns under Synder...so I am guessing the gun issue means less..? Though to your comment, I would argue that vigilante killing when he has to is different from law enforcer killing when he has to. Then again it's super hero work, so it's different...I am just not thinking about it anymore.. and just enjoying the stories.

Batman also works with Diana, who is willing to kill when she absolutely has to, so I'd put vigilante/superhero necessary killing on the same level as law enforcer killing.

But like you, I don't really think too hard about it and just enjoy the characters :P

So...whatever happened to Batman Inc, anyway?

A terrorist cell named Leviathan (led by Talia al Ghul) infiltrated Gotham with bombers, brainwashed children and a super-soldier known as the Heretic (whom was actually a clone of Damian Wayne). Their attacks killed many people (including the The Knight (the Batman of England) and Damian Wayne himself, which troubled Talia), and so the people of Gotham forced Batman Incorporated to be shut down as to prevent any more attacks since they were the reason said cell invaded in the first place.

I think the members now work in their own countries, while some had retired (like Batwing).

I simply love this series. In some way, it works better without Starfire on the picture since it allows the boys to tackle more reasonable threats while keeping the stakes high.

I'm on the minority but I absolutely love the new costumes, the hoodie says a lot of Jason personality while Roy's going for a more militarized look.

Denis Medri did such a fantastic job on the art for this series and it makes me sad that he has left the book.
