I know why most cats don't like their belly rubbed but for some reason one of my cats loves it.

Where they like being rubbed is also something that varies, yea. Most don't, a few love it.

I think the overstimulation thing is a bit more universal.

Yeah, Genius Cat (owned by my roommate) actually is okay with belly rubs. Then again, he is the biggest black hole of attention I have ever seen among cats. He could probably handle being petted for ten years solid and simply think he had ascended to kitty heaven. My roommate jokes there is no wrong way to pet him; he loves it no matter what.

One of mine LOVES having her belly rubbed, and will stretch out full length to enjoy it. Her brother has watched her do so and trained himself to accept belly rubs because he's jealous of any attention she gets.

I discovered this maybe a week or two ago and immediately laughed so hard I HAD to show it to my roommate (who owns Buttface McGee, resident genius cat). I approve of this comic muchly.
