1) I actually liked this period of Hank's career. Maybe the Wasp was a weird direction for him, but he did well with it. I wish Marvel could pick just one thing for him and stick to it though... I can't think of many other people in the Marvel universe who have gone through so many identities and identity crises.
2) I miss Eric O'Grady. He was a complete and total dick, but he always seemed to be trying to fight against his nature to improve. Killing him off and turning him into an evil LMD was kind of a waste, whether you think of it as wasting a character with potential, or ruining his brief legacy as a hero.
3) Bill Foster's costume. My god. Between the collar and the abs-revealing rectangle, that's a horrible way to spend eternity. The 70s, they were not kind.
It's sad in a way Eric O'Grady would make more sense as the current Antmen's plot and relationships. It would be believable and not that much of a character regression.
Hank has seen evidence of actual souls and traveled to Mephisto's realm on at least one occasion. Does he think Bill Foster's soul hung around his body after death because there was a chip in his brain?
AIM reverse engineering Pym's work would, at worst, cause distress for a computer simulation of Bill Foster's mind that might not experience emotions the way a mind housed in an organic brain with hormones and such would, if it is even sentient at all rather than merely a repository of all the information the chip downloaded.
I'm wondering if they're going to do to Bill Foster what was done with Vision and Carol Danvers -- bring him back with his memories (the info on the chip) but not the emotional ties to them (as those are linked to his soul).
Or maybe Hank really did make the technological equivalent of a soul jar. Scientist Supreme, and all that.
Oh, wow, I though this was a new post-Secret Wars thing. I'm usually more up to date on Pym's goings-on, but I'd never even heard of this title. "(It may've been Eric's presence that threw me, b/c I did not care for him.)
Yeah, Eric throws me off as well. They tried redeeming him in this period, but I don't know whether they succeeded as I haven't read this series.
You also might not have noticed because it was just 3 issues.
I don't like this because they had to bring up domestic abuse again. I think it was important to portray such an important issue in a comic book, but can it ever not be about that? Has Hank forgiven himself already? Has anyone else for that matter?
