I will never in my entire life understand why cosmic-scale superhero stories are a thing that people like.

I mean, stories that happen to be cosmic? Fine. But cosmic itself? The appeal completely eludes me.

It's the appeal of really dry science fiction like the Foundation books, where the ideas are the draw instead of plot or character or tone or what have you.
