With all the recent revelations about the Secret Service finding new and inventive ways to cock up, Frank being able to get into that room doesn't disturb my suspension of disbelief at all. :D

It's this part of the story that has me convinced that Ennis himself doesn't really have a problem with the French, seeing as how the French guy's lot actually improves thanks to Frank while the bad guys who gave him crap for being French die in a fiery plane crash or are nuked into oblivion. The whole thing might have actually been a subtle Take That at the general mocking attitude towards the French that was so popular back when this story was first written.

The panels showing what is almost certainly the President drunkenly ranting about the French remind me a bit of the recordings of Nixon's drunken anti-Semitic rants.
