"THE VISION feels to me so much like a book of the past. I feel like I'm following the formula set forth in SWAMP THING, SANDMAN, and ANIMAL MAN: Take a hero seriously, connect that hero to the real world, then watch the world crumble." -- Tom King
I've only been able to catch this on the comm, but I'm digging the way it's written. I never really thought Vision was the sort of character who could carry his own title (his own arc definitely), but I like the sci-fi/morality slice-of-life-and-MURDER thing happening here.
This book has been consistently amazing and incredibly creepy. The real question is, though, how far down this rabbit hole of "doing anything for his family" can Vision go? How far can he go before he crosses a line than damages him as a character?
My theory on the endgame: The dog is going to be the catalyst for the unraveling of the Vision's suburban-family-life experiment. If he used the brain patterns of the neighbors' (mysteriously vanished) dog for a template, then the artificial dog is going to react to the neighbors in ways that will strike them as... familiar. And that will raise uncomfortable questions.
Is this book described as an ongoing? Because given all the portents of doom and destruction, I don't see how this arc can resolve in a way that leaves them a way out.
