I miss the early version of Cassie, she really was pretty cool. It was interesting/weird how she basically grew prettier and more superheroic as time passed. I think they actually explained it as a byproduct of her godly heritage and powers. But it was nice when she was cute and geeky and trying to figure everything out, not polished and experienced... or worse, all Nu52 angry.
Nu52 Cassie ISN'T the same character AFAIK, she's a complete reboot. Different father, different motivation, had never met Wonder Woman, and now has a past as a thief (stealing from museum as a sort of rebellion against the digs her mother dragged her to) and the liquid metal costume thing.
She did finally get to meet Diana (and her aunt Cassandra...as well as ripping out her throat) but I don't think it will add to much given Rebirth around the corner and Cassie's nowhere in the new TT roster (esp when it seems DC's lost interest in former YJ sidekicks who aren't Tim) nor WW so far.
Even Tim only seems to be in Detective Comics. You have to wonder how long that'll last as it seems unlikely that DC plans to use it as an ensemble book on an ongoing basis.
And Detective Comics appears to be a bunch of characters that DC Editorial is meh about to start with (Cass and Steph go without saying, DC Editorial doesn't think Batwoman can carry her own title, and Clayface(?)).
Not a long one. I couldn't have told you either Millar or Jeanty had worked on WW at all. Clearly this is from his early DC era, before he decided to go superdark.
I've seen this cover art before, and the big image of Cassie in her new duds, but I don't have this issue. I think it's probably right after Eric Luke's run?
He Who Must Not Be Posted may have written it that way.
There's a chunk of weird little stories--I think generally one-part or two-part stories--from this period of Wonder Woman that were more or less fill-ins. I think other writers mostly ignored them when writing their own stuff.
There's an Aquman team-up that seems to fit in that category, with a more bloodthirsty than usual Diana; and that fun story where Diana gets partially absorbed by Clayface (even though she is canonically not actually composed of clay) & turns into a doppelganger of Donna Troy.
