In this week's Transformers, Galvatron went to space on Astrotrain.

Optimus Prime tasked Arcee to follow him.

" Do not allow him to escape..

" .. whatever the cost. "

She smiled. " You can count on me. "



She hitched a ride on Cosmos, who went close to superluminal and got on Astrotrain's tail.

The UFO saw the shuttle heading for Soundwave's Sanctuary Station and took out his engines.

Galvatron returned fire, catching Cosmos head-on.

Astrotrain, unable to maintain trajectory, drifted into Jupiter's atmosphere.

Arcee followed.



(Considering Jupiter's gravity, that is a feat.)



What follows is a fight, with an end.

Arcee vs. Galvatron, and the odds (so far as I know) don't seem to overwhelmingly favor Galvatron.

I do like how badass they've made Arcee, but the fight doesn't remain one-on-one, new challengers arrive :)

One of the themes of the season seems to be change. Those who change and adjust manage. Those like Astrotrain- who stayed with the toughest Decepticon despite some of the stuff Galvatron has said and done (at a previous meeting with Arcee, Galvatron 'joked' he'd kill Astrotrain so they could meet alone!), even after the likes of Sky Warp has quit, end up, well, being used as a tool to buy time, and not very much of it.

"... huh. Oops."

See, if Astrotrain were like Megatron, this'd be easy to recover from.
(... although, the guy's got a new toy coming out. He might be fine in a few months. Maybe?)

For Arcee, killing Astrotrain meant that she had one less soldier to deal with, one less person who could shoot her in the back. Killing Astrotrain was the tactically wise thing to do, for her.

But for Gal, he was betraying a loyal soldier simply to buy himself some breathing room.

Which both goes into why Galvatron survived a very long time, and why when he wasn't work *for* someone, he rapidly ended up alone (Cyclonus and Scourge excepted).
