I was reading a trade the other month (can't remember what it was, but it might have been Ewings Ultron Forever (unlimited?) tpb), and it had some old reprints in the back. Does the whole screwed Rhodey over with unadjusted brainwaves ever come up any more? Or was it really unimportant over all? Seemed like it was going to kill the poor guy.

He's dead now, so it's a little moot. But no, it hasn't been mentioned recently.

Oh yeah, I figured it was fixed eventually, but was just wondering if it ever amounted to much. Or is it one of those "well, I almost got you killed but we're besties, let's never speak of it again" things?

(Sometimes I realise I have some huge Marvel knowledge gaps outside of the Spidey/X-Men books. I'm not going to lie, I got into the Avengers through Bendis and only started really looking into Iron Man, Cap and the like with the MCU.)

From his wiki page, he was cured during his West Coast Avengers days: "Pym sent Rhodes to Dr. Michael Twoyoungmen (Shaman of Alpha Flight) and Rhodes cured himself of his headaches via a journey through a mystic dimension called "The Gorge" that revealed Rhodes’ guilt of feeling unworthy of the armor."

Rhodey later would be burned and injured so badly he looked like a terminator, part cyborg and burned flesh....he got better from that, too.

IIRC, it was resolved when Rhodey attacked Tony out of unadjusted brainwaves induced paranoia over Tony forcefully taking the Iron Man armor back. Tony managed to talk him down, then readjusted the armor so that it wouldn't happen again. It wasn't really a 'screwed him over' thing so much as an unpredictable side effect of Rhodey using a mental interface that was built from the ground up for Tony.

It is interesting to see Tony and Rhodey in their armor from around IRON MAN #300, which were also the models used for the 1994 Iron Man animated series.

Robert Hayes and Dorian Heywood did the voices for Stark and Rhodes in that animated series. I wonder why neither of them appeared in the movies.
