In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.

Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.

Poli.... you can finish the rest (Though if I were able to vote in the US, I would go on record as saying I would still vote for Clinton if she was so contagious she required a hazmat suit for the rest of her life, rather than Trump.... Pneumonia you recover from, being Donald Trump, not so much)

I do just have to mention this though; Billy West records some Trump quotes as Zapp Brannigan and it really works

Quick Plug for my favorite comic-centric podcast: Character Corner. Hosts Kriss and DPalm (and occasional third guest) spotlight a character or group of characters and generally nerd out about them from one to two hours every week.

Last week was Ghost Rider, in anticipation of Robbie Reyes getting introduced into Agents of SHIELD.
http://www.movietrailerreviews.net/index.php/podcast/ghost-rider-spirits-of-vengeance-blazeketchreyes/

And the week before that was the third part of their focus on rogue's galleries: The Flash rogues.
http://www.movietrailerreviews.net/index.php/podcast/rogue-war-part-3-the-flashs-underrated-rogue-gallery/

Word of warning, Kriss and Dpalm are black and make liberal use of their n-word privilege.

Give it a try!

Awesome recommendation, thank you!

On the subject of Ghost Rider, Marvel just released a promo photo of Robbie Reyes all aflame, and a short teaser for Agents of SHIELD season 4 - http://screencrush.com/agents-of-shield-ghost-rider-season-4-poster/

I kind of like the direction they took the skull. It's clearly more like a real skull than Robbie's original look while at the same time being more stylized than a real human skull would be.

I just got my copy of Batman & TMNT, though I feel it will be awhile before I can read it. Currently I've been focusing my free time on going through at least part of my movie & TV shows backlog. Part of me wishes they had made a softcover version because hardcovers are expensive, while another part of me is glad they only made the hardcover because it's an excuse to treat myself (normally I exclusively buy softcovers to save money, but hardcovers are so much prettier I always feel a bit of regret! This one time I could tell myself "well, they only made the hardcover soooooo...").

Rumor has it that Amazon streaming is finally coming to my country this christmas. About freaking time, we are the only country in Europe that doesn't have it yet! Eff, we only got Netflix just November 2015. Nevermind being low on the totem pole, we are buried beneath it -_-. Anyway, I look forward to a rewatch of Avatar the Last Airbender.

I wish people didn't try to sell me stuff by bashing other things I love. Example: "YOU WATCHED THAT SHITTY WORTHLESS MOVIE FROZEN SO NOW YOU HAVE TO WATCH MOANA!!!" Dude, I definitely am planning on watching Moana because I've been watching every single Disney animated movie every single year since I was a child and I have zero intention to stop, but you bashing and flaming the shit out of a movie I enjoyed is making me seriously consider avoiding Moana out of sheer spite. Cut it out.

After a (mostly) relaxing two weeks in the beautiful, if baffling, wilds of Yorkshire, me and the family returned home to find the builders have done absolutely nothing.
They started in October. They were supposed to be finished in April (though really, in hindsight, that was never gonna happen).
Going by the rate they go at, they'll probably not be done until next spring.

Not a fun weekend.

(And on a more personal level, the new LEGO Dimensions comes out next week, but since my PS3 is in a shipping container, buried under a pile of boxes... can't play them, just buy the sets and stare longingly at them...)

First of all, I think the New Yorker pretty accurately sums up my feelings on the "Clinton health" thing, are we electing a president or entering someone in the olympics? http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/poll-unconscious-clinton-more-fit-to-be-president-than-conscious-trump

And even if I didn't actually like Clinton and think that her liberal policy wonk behavior is exactly what we need, the fact that she's not Donald Trump is still enough to vote for her. This blog post sums up why: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/slacktivist/2016/09/06/donald-trumps-one-idea-the-only-thing-that-matters-in-this-election/

On a lighter note, Supergirl has just been added to Netflix. I didn't watch it when it was out, and I just finished the red Kryptonite episode. This is the sort of lighthearted superhero fair that I was hoping the Flash would be. Probably the show's greatest accomplishment is getting me to love Cat Grant, when characters like that ("adversity made me stronger, so now you must suffer through adversity, too") normally bug the crap out of me. I'm betting that season 2 will revolve around the real Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman. I'd love it if they tried to adapt the War of Light storyline for this show.

I think I'd still vote for Clinton over Trump if she was actually dead.

I can't really vote since I don't actually live in the country, but I'd welcome our new undead overlords too.

Dead politicians do have startling large advantages compared to live ones; they don't file padded claims for expenses, rarely start wars...

Have given most of my comic book collection to charity--if you're in the Twin Cities area, please go to the Great Geek Garage Sale later this month. (I donated 15 longboxes, and they have about 27 longboxes from other donators this year, so bumper crop!)

Blizzard announced Chris Metzen retired from Blizzard this week. That was a bit shocking, he's been with the company something like 20 years, and as far as I know was their chief creative type.

It's hard to know how much of any particular franchise is flows from his pen, but there's definitely a feeling from the fans that a lot of the buck stops with him in regards to a lot of the tropes that Blizzard leans heavily into. While I think a lot of people respect the stories he's built over the years and the energy he brings when he presents his ideas, it's hard to look back over the recent Blizzard deliveries and not be a bit... underwhelmed.... by them creatively.

I hope this shakes up the Blizzard writing staff a bit, and we see some new voices and some new stories in their franchises.

Any thoughts on the delayed final issue of Civil War? Between this and Secret Wars that's two big summer events which have been botched by production delays and could derail linewide launches, so I wonder if even Marvel is starting to realize that it's not a good setup for them.
