I love the concept of a group of insane Daleks who all run around in souped up customized travel machines.

Except we already have the Cult of Skaro, who specircially were the four Daleks allowed to innovate in otherwise unthinkable ways.

Daleks have always been creative (just usually in more effective ways of conquering and destroying) which is why they have Scientist and Strategist functions.

Those guys' big breakaway from orthodoxy was giving themselves names. They still looked, talked, and acted like any other Dalek.

This Volatix bunch are clearly, eh... on a whole other level, shall we call it?

I think being able to think that the inclusion of the DNA of something other than Dalek into their genome would be an improvement would be a bit bigger breakaway from regular Dalek thinking.

You know, the human Dalek episode.

The Cult was deliberately assigned the task of "Thinking the unthinkable" and that included the idea of things like "taking on a humanoid form again" even if that form did give new meaning to the terms "dickhead", but these guys appear to be determined to be wacky torture-porn Daleks.

Definitely something the show should do... I love Michelle Gomez but do wish they'd gone for a female form for Missy who wasn't one of Moffat's "Stern, Schoolmarm/Mary Poppins" types (See also Ms. Delphox and Miss Kizlet, and it's not like we hadn't already had Matron Cofelia). A Missy who was as smart and evil as ever, but who looked like a 60's themed young woman with gogo gear or the like would have been fun.

And reciprocally there should be a season of Scooby-Doo where every guy in a costume is actually an alien.

And the final episode for both should be a crossover.
