Ah, Exodus. The only character totally immune to character-ectomy, since he was born without one.

I should know this, but who is Exodus again? I seem to have forgotten.

Exodus had potential as a character. They just didn't do much with him after his big fight with Nate Grey back in the 1990a.

I was introduced to him in an arc written by Chuck Austen, which is a bad way to be introduced to anything

Thank you. I must admit that even having read the article, I still cannot remember this dude. Hopefully whatever they are going to do with him will make him memorable here and add some depth to his character.

You mean his mittens? Because the dude is conspicuously lacking in fingers.

He's a product of the nineties. He can't help but try to look cool before caring about little things like eye contact.

So Exodus has gone back to his ludicrous original outfit, instead of the one he got a few years back, which while bland at least wasn't so... 90s.

It's the closest thing he has to a personaity trait.

In fact, it might be that the costume is the actual character and occasionally it just swaps up the meatsuit.

I would laugh and laugh and laugh if it turned out his grab bag of overblown mutant powers was actually the doing of a retailored raincoat that Apocalypse adapted from Celestials technology.

Seriously, the guy's supposedly as powerful a telepath as Professor X, a more powerful telekinetic than Jean Grey, can make force fields bigger and stronger than Susan Richards' that even the Scarlet Witch's powers can't get past, is super-strong, immortal, can raise the frickin' dead, and was too powerful for Rogue to absorb his full suite of abilities (unlike, for instance, Thor). Yet somehow he ended up as a lackey to both Apocalypse and Magneto.

It's funny how someone so powerful ends up so ineffective.

Though, isn't his power level supposed to be dependent on how many believe in him?

He can, apaprently drain psionic energy from others to boost his strength, but his baseline is already pretty spectacularly high.

To be fair, he was a willing lackey to Magneto, after he was rescued by him. Though shortly thereafter, Magneto got his mind wiped. So Exodus did most of the running of Magneto's shop with him indisposed. It's just afterward, when Magneto regained his mind again that Exodus more or less dropped off the map.

Until, well Magneto began to act "good" again and then Exodus returned.

I just looked him up on wiki because I had no actual memory of his powers, and you don't even list them all: Gobal distance teleporter of self and others, Wolverine+ level healing factor coupled with near invulnerability and so on...

I can only put his status down to being not terrible bright, making him a better soldier than a general.

He created a TK shield in Genosha so strong it was going to destroy the entire island (as he shrunk the shield) as well as kept the Avengers and X-Men out in order to protect Luna I think.

It took the Avengers, X-Men, and FF to stop him from destroying the entire island.

He's a walking plot device. He's as powerful or as weak as needed and he has no plot or motivations of his own.

He had a motivation during Mike Carrey's run on Adjectiveless...
Like trying to restore the Mutant race.
Or trying to revive Xavier after Not!Bishop shot him.

Yes, two examples. Two whole examples! What a guy!

He's wearing black latex....

...I hope he imediately gets hit by the terrigen mist, pukes on his boots, and keels over dead. Not because I have any particular hatred for him personally. It's just I'm sick of these jack booted all-powerful types and their nazi-esque "survival of the fittest" plans for world domination. Since I know that I'd be one of the folks deemed "worthless" I want to see them crash and burn so painfully and embarrassingly fast they'll be laughed at as morons for decades to come.

Alternatively, while Wanda has taken a lot of heat for depowering mutants in the past, I'd love to see her nose twitch him into a genetically baseline human lunatic in imminent danger of being trepanned by his own costume and unable to safely remove it thanks to the purple mittens.

I only ever really remember Exodus from the old Mutant Apocalypse game.

He was really annoying to deal with in that.
