"I was inspired there by an old Stephen King story about a giant finger that erupts out of a plughole. When I handed in the plot for that episode, I was told I was a very sick man." -- Al Ewing
I have to say the only character or situation that is actually moving me in this whole event is Ulysses. What little character we've seen (when not being used as a plot device with clothes on) is that of a perfectly decent average guy whose actions are defined by a sense of compassion for the things he foresees, and definitely does not deserve the quantities of shit he's having to deal with through no fault of his own.
I'd say I want to see more of him after this event, but after this maybe the nicest thing that can happen to him is a long vacation somewhere nice and cool, with a drink in hand.
It's how I cope with my occasional "Where are Doug and Warlock in the midst of this M-Pox crap going down?" concerns. Since we haven't seen them at all, I just assume they're off having proper fun adventures somewhere else...
If only Marvel had had a teenage "everyman" character who had already had to learn that with great power came great responsibility and sort through those judgement calls and shades of grey who was able to mentor him in a sane and sensible way.
100% agree. He is a perfectly likable, normal dude, trying to deal with crazy shit way above his pay grade as best he can.....Man do you know how rare that has become in comics?
So who's up for a Layla Miller & Ulysses team book after this is over?
"They Know Stuff: The Series" - Two Exposition devices that were barely conceived plot devices wander around the marvel universe and interfere with other heroes ongoing storylines and get into wacky hijinks! They know stuff, but do they really know themselves?
