Well based solely on this, humanity are the bad guys and probably deserves to be under the thumb of aliens.

I feel tempted to print up some "Megatron was right!" t-shirts.

You sell them, I'll buy them. Unless they are an actual thing already in which case, I'll still buy one too. Maybe A Megatron was right jacket. I can send one to my Member of Parliament too.

Well, we've seen that Megatron is charismatic, powerful, resourceful, a forward-thinker, determined, nigh-impossible to kill...

And all he wanted to do was create a universe of total machine supremacy, with him at the center of an autocratic system where things like "freedom" and "free will" no longer existed, and Starscream gets punched in the robo-kidneys every now and then.

Compare that to folks like Sentinel Prime, or Zeta Prime, or IDW's current president, who seems to be a complete and total idiot.

In their defense, there's shapeshifters who've replaced leaders among them and third parties offing said apparent leaders while looking like robots and they also have Cobra-tied people in the mix for kicks. In short, they're being played *hard*.

Ah, Matt Trakker has been confronted with the age-old question:
"Are we the baddies?"

Boy, it certainly is a good thing Manheim isn't a diabolical fiend with ties to a ruthless organisation with plans to rule the world, if not an organisation of his own!

(Also, liking the cut of Karza's jib.)

If this is covering all of the Hasbro toys made tv series... where's My Little Pony at? :)

Apparently the wrong demographic, girls don't buy Transformers comics and boys don't buy MLP comics is what I've been told. Which frankly does not line up with what I've seen. I'll admit my tastes run more to the MTMTE comic, but I still buy it. And since they are doing the Headmasters thing, I'm anticipating my new Weirdwolf toy release any time real soon!

Frankly I think if they had to do this, then we oughta have seen the Megatron from the GI Joe vs Transformers line in Equestria like that comic promised!

It is more like Hasbro and other toy companies don't want crossover appeal. They want the toy market segregated by gender. There is a prevalent belief in the toy industry that if you sell toys to anyone who wants them then your competing with yourself but if you enforce strict these toys are for boys and these for girls your only competing with your competitors.

Especially in the case of girls buying toys they've decided are for boys. There have been franchises shelved because too many girls wanted the toys they decided were for boys.

It is like they hate the concept of making money...

I'll say this for the consumer frenzy of the 1980s, at least they made it easy to give them your money. I remember just shelf after shelf, row after row, of stuff pretty much mixed up. I'm not saying there was no gender segregation then, because obviously there was, but it was nowhere near as all consuming as it is now. The stores and the companies wanted money and they didn't care who it came from.

Really, if merch is involved, companies tend to freak out when a show/comic/whatever attracts the "wrong" demographic, which basically was the big reason why the Young Justice animated series got canned. Though, that's really the problem with using merchandise directed at a single demographic to subsidise the production. Even Kevin Smith pointed out with his interview with Paul Dini that it's essentially a self-fulfilling prophecy as a result of single-minded marketers who can't do their job properly.

I never understood the Freak Out, the conversation over it ought to go something like this:

Marketing: Gaaaah, our toys are selling to the wrong demographic! Oh No!

CFO: But they are selling, right?

Marketing: Oh yeah, but to girls and not boys.

CFO: Are you saying their money has cooties?

Marketing: Uh...maybe?

CFO: Yeah, well maybe you are fired.

Marketing: Uh, no, it doesn't have cooties.

CFO: That is what I thought, now work out how to sell to even more people too.

Next universe over. Even Baron Kazra isn't ambitious enough to pick a fight with the Mane Six. :)

Amusingly, Word of God is that Jem is set in the IDW Hasbro-verse, but it's kinda hard to fit them into an action crossover event. Personally, I'm looking forward to the issue where Sky-byte auditions for the Holograms.

It'd be cool, but as a fan of both, I don't think they'd fit. Not in a mixed continuity, which this is.

Also, they are non-Earth based with their own cosmology, so harder to fit in too. Hm, maybe Equestria Girls...

I hope Blitzwing gets rescued. So many characters have died lately...

Agreed, I know IDW has done the anyone can die thing to great effect but maybe they should ease off it a little and limit it to OC redshirts for a while. At least with the Transformers, they can off as many human characters as they want; I don't care about them. I'm a little confused by the artwork though, is the action a flashback to capturing Blitzwing or is that Kup they have there? It looks a bit like Kup, and if they kill Kup then I will be upset. Kup was one of my faves. I wanted him in TF Prime, but he never showed up.

Three days stuck in a room with Prowl? Nothing.

Speaking of TF Prime characters, it looks like Knock Out and Breakdown are going to star in the upcoming issue of Till All Are One. If they go snarking with Starcream I'm going to be SO happy :D

Gotta say, I do care about some human characters. Verity and Marissa are close to my heart (I was really upset when it looked like Verity was dying in Sins), and I'm reasonably fond of Jimmy too. I even felt genuinely sorry when Hunter was killed (in a disturbingly similar way to Blitzwing, too).

Spike and those other creeps can bite it, though.

This whole thing is totally designed to market this year's Transformers toy gimmick...I'm betting.

Speaking of Revolution, that's the theme of Humble Bundle's latest sale. Mostly Transformers titles, there's also some GI Joe, Street Fighter, Action Man, ROM and several of the Revolution event issues released so far.
