The best way to describe Red One is "a sexy mess".

I tried to do a little summary for the premise, where the Cold War era Russians (but not the Cold War era Russians that we would recognise) send an agent to America (characterised by a schism between "family values", of homophobia and prudishness, and a free love agenda) to win a cultural war by becoming a superhero and cultural icon while also fighting with a hammer (which she throws at a bullet, stopping it) and sickle, and there was a porn film involved, and a "moral crusader" who was styled as an unkillable Amish called The Carpenter and, it takes place with SALT in the background and... it's nonsense.

But nonsense doesn't have to mean the same as bad.

But, it's secured the art team of the Dodsons, and that means that everybody looks lovely.

I've picked out a four page sequence from #4 where Red One decides to go out and be superheroic, like her handlers wanted (sort of. even that bit flip flops around).







So, that's Red One being a bit too extreme and direct, and that's even before her very brief stint as a fluffer.

Okay, that thing with the armored car was ridiculous, even by comics standards.

I can easily visualize someone like Daredevil or Hawkeye doing all of that. Well, maybe not propositioning the male cop...

Hawkeye would proposition a female cop. Daredevil would just fall in love with her and brood once she gets murdered.
