Yep, was just scrolling down to post about that. I knew he looked familiar in his earlier post-Secret Wars appearances, but in this issue the source reference becomes really obvious. (Wonder if it'll result in Cassell getting the role if and when the Dr. Doom IP revers to Marvel Studios?)

It's Vincent Cassell as someone said but Deodato often uses celebrity models for his characters. Probably the most blatant was Tommy Lee Jones as Norman Osborn.

And then the next issue did not include Doom at all...

Honestly, it didn't include a lot of things. Frankly, this whole run was a depressing crash. It started off well, but then came Deodato and it all went down hill from there with the story.

This series surely made Tony Stark a huge focus and important character in the Marvel Universe like Marvel was boasting about last year.

I jumped off at the end of Marquez' issues. I don't regret my decision.

Ditto. I'll be getting both IM series Bendis is writing when they're out in trade, but I have no interest in Deodato's work nowadays. It's not nearly as energetic or as interesting as it was under Ellis on Thunderbolts.

It feels like Bendis is making time until Iron Doom comes out.
Like, i would try to be fair and say that having to being forced to tie-in with Civil War II is to blame... except both are written by the same guy!

If this was any other writer I'd ask why Tony Stark needs someone to explain to him the difference between two women he's worked with who a) are nothing alike, and b) he's personally had pretty meaningful adventures with (especially when Rhodey hasn't actually met either Mantis or Moondragon outside of those epic "every Avenger ever" group scenes)....but it's Bendis, and really when has he ever skipped an opportunity to shit on any non A-grade character's rep when he's not personally a fan of them? :p

What's even odder about that scene is that when Stark was wearing that particular armor, he and Rhodes were on the outs. Stark had faked his death without telling Jim, and they didn't reconcile for a while.

But yeah, Bendis thinks crapping on characters is a great way to waste panels, and if there's one thing Bendis knows it's wasting time.
