For those S_D veterans here you may remember 'Fuan No Tane'. For those who don't, it was a Japanese horror anthology with stories amounting to only a few pages. They're not that scary compared to Junji Ito's work but a few are genuinely creepy.
Oh man, I remember a few of these being posted. While they don't have the same body horror of Ito, they're still disturbing. Thanks for resurrecting one!
Its weird to even call this an anthology, these aren't really stories, they're just creepy scenes that occur, with no explanation or real payoff.
And yet it works. I mean its like drive by creepy. It hits you and then its gone, and you're left there going "what the fuck" and feeling vaguely unsettled.
Oh, hey, I was just trying to remember the name of this anthology! I love how each scene manages to get its point across in so few pages. They may not be heart-pounders, but they do tend to slip out of the recesses of memory when there's a flash of nothing in the corner of the eye.
I've been trying to remember the name of this for ages! It's not Junji Ito levels of horrific recoling disgust, but I think it's way better at evoking a sense of paranoia and unease.
