Hercules and Sibyl spent most of the issue using the Roman names for the gods and talking about Rome's gods and what they did in ancient Rome. So it's jarring to see Hercules refer to himself as the Son of Zeus

Pick one damn it.

Hah, that's a strong bone to pick for a character calling himself Hercules instead of Heracles.

They've always been wildly populist with the God's names. Zeus is more popular than Jupiter, thus that's the name they go with.

At least for Hercules/Heracles (or Herakles), there's an in-universe explanation. Herc intentionally started using his Roman name to distance himself from his hated stepmother, as "Heracles" translates to "the glory of Hera."

Boy, Alcmene knew how to ask for trouble, did she?

Personally, I'm disappointed in Zeus's lack of creativity here. Impersonating her husband is something any god might think to do. Where are the swans and golden showers?

Even someone like Zeus can only have so many Cunning Plans before he runs out of ideas and decides to wing it.

All that thinking and planning was starting to seriously cut into his valuable sticking-his-dick-into-things time.

Er, wouldn't Kang be using time viewers to navigate to the exact locations of his targets at the given moment he arrives? I'd assume he has better intel than just depending on 4000 year old historical records.

Of course, actually killing someone who managed to thwart Hera's attempts on his life from birth probably isn't an easy task.

You start looking around the origin of Hercules, and there are quite a few things that... might look back

Kang might not have access to all his resources, what with having been torn into several incarnations. Like the one that couldn't move forward from the modern time period.

In all fairness, I'd bet that Herc was being watched over as a kid by his daddy in his early years, and is made of stern stuff as an adult. Finding a vulnerable time to kill Herc would take more time than Kang has ;)

Yeah, Zeus was pretty liberal with the curses on anyone that offended him back in those days, and Athena had long term plans for Hercules from Day One. That sort of opposition should be out of Kang's league.

You know what occurs to me ? Killing baby Peter Parker, and from the picture in front of may & Ben and his parents... thats really, really going to provoke Richard and Mary Parker. They were seriously connected secret agents. Who knows what kind of weird time-travel stuff the government has tucked away in the 616 equivalent of Warehouse 13?
