I wonder why the New U Clones are more forthcoming to Peter about the "Catch" then they are with everyone else.

They have to work for Jackal to receive the daily dosage of pills that prevents them from succumbing to the Carrion virus that they are all carriers of.

It should be noted that in the first issue when somebody didn't take their pill, they just began to suffer cellular degradation. The zombie thing has only happened in the alternate realities where Peter joins forces with New U.

Not quite, remember that Peter's Spider-Sense already goes off when near a New U clone. If it was simple cellular degradation, it would be going off.

The Carrion virus is already in effect.

Then what about the guy from the first issue?

He had cloned NewU organs.

I thought the implication was he died and they cloned him. Hence what Peter saw in the lab later.

And he was making Peter's spider-sense go off. If it's the carrion virus that is making it go off, why didn't that happen to him?

That may not be true. The guy did dissolve, but no carrion virus was released (that we know of).

Doc Ock and Peter trying t fix the imperfections may be what causes the carrion virus to be released

In all fairness, nobody, not even Jackal, realizes this until it's already too late.

If that was true, he wouldn't be giving them the pills to keep them stable, he knows the clones aren't stable.

The reason they take the pills is because their bodies will break down if they don't, not because they'll turn into zombies.
