This is my favorite version of Batgirl: Adult, independent, and completely lacking any deep "motivating tragedy". She fights crime because it's fun. Which makes her a perfect contrast/foil for Batman.
Yes! I love that there's no trauma in her origin. She does it because crimefighting is exciting and it makes her feel energized. I like that Babs has always been an 'independent contractor', working mainly on her own but willing to join up with the Dynamic Duo when necessary. She even kept her identity secret from them for awhile, like in the TV show. That gave her independence, an essential for a female superhero.
I love her 'librarian look'. :)
I vote for Supergirl, mainly because I love that character. Sorry, Eddie, I like ya, but Linda Danvers is my gal! :)
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
