I've heard a lot of people slam this issue's art, and yeah, I guess the DCAU comics have seen better, but Templeton's writing is so sharp I can't make myself give a damn.
Aside from Dini himself, Templeton may have been the only writer who ever made me give a shit about Harley.
(BTW, I know this issue was printed with a full musical score during the Wacky Montage. Anyone ever tried playing it?)
One thing I've always appreciated about the B:TAS Joker, both in the comics and in the cartoon, is that he's a much more human, relatable Joker. He's got very human desires and motivations. I can't imagine the "reinvents himself at the drop of a hat"/super-sane Joker ever considering giving up crime like this.
