Sleepwalker #8
Jan. 16th, 2017 06:03 pmAlyssa approaches Rick, and while she makes it clear that she does not want to get back together with him, she wants his help in finding Sleepwalker and convince him not to judge humanity too quickly. She believes that he lives in the haunted house on Coney Island that they saw him in back in issue one. Rick, believing that she would think he was insane if he told her the truth, says no, leading to Alyssa storming off in a huff.
Deathlok's computer senses a power surge in the haunted house area, so he leaves to investigate. Meanwhile, Rick dozes off, allowing Sleepwalker to investigate. Alyssa spots Deathlok, causing her to scream.
While Sleepy and Deathlok fight, Alyssa and Whitney are kidnapped by monsters. The battle awakens Rick, resulting in Sleepwalker disappearing. Rick, seeing the damage, investigates to make sure Alyssa is alright, only to see her and Whitney stripped and seemingly experimented on. Rick is then kidnapped by a monster and taken to a scientist calling himself Mr. FX, who begins the same process on Rick. Meanwhile, more monsters attack Deathlok.
Deathlok's computer tells him that it will harm Rick thanks to network linkage, so Deathlok enters cyberspace to unlink them, entering Rick's mind, only to get attacked by Sleepwalker.
Rick falling unconscious allows Sleepwalker to be escape to the real world. He then fixes Deathlok's hand and frees him from his bonds, explaining the misunderstanding. When more monsters attack, Deathlok hacks into the system and stops them.

I sort of wish he solved all potential hero vs hero misunderstandings the same way he did the Spider-Man thing; leave Rick a note. Of course hundreds could die before Rick wakes up to respond to "Carnage. Good? Bad?"
PS: Love the editorial note that feels the need to explain Cyberspace.
