In the original storyline he appeared older when he was weakened, but his size remained the same. Soule basically made it so he was only bulked up when he had the crystals and when he didn't he became a small bald man.
But I'm talking more about his personality. In Slott's storyline he was a tragic figure; he was a beloved leader until Black Bolt overthrew and exiled him after he hid the slave engine so the Inhumans couldn't use it on the humans.
Then when Soule brought him back, he was referred to as a tyrant and was basically written as a mustache-twirling villain.
I don't know, turning all humans into alpha primitives seems like crossing a line. Especially since he hid the machine to prevent that from happening in the first place.
Surprisingly enjoyable. I really liked Maximus here. Although I felt the Unspoken was very much out of character there, in as far as he has an established character.
I see him as Charles Xavier, (although with more of a Magneto approach to problems) to the Inhumans Brotherhood of Evil. The one good guy their city fostered. But every time he shows up there seems to be less to him.
You'd expect, for example that he would realize that Linnages ancestors must know of all sorts of hidden Terrigen across the world.
And why on earth isn't Randac a Inhuman Universal Ancestor after twenty thousand years in a small group? The Royal Family must be _incredibly_ inbred!
This would be part of the way his character is all over the place, and is less the tragic hero and more of the moustache-twirling villain every time he shows up.
Although he doesn't use his powers with much imagination. He could just have teleported away and given himself the power to transmute stuff to Terrigen.
Maximus asserts in this issue (and gets backed up on that by a couple other people) that there's no more Terrigen left on Earth. Had this been stated anywhere before and I'm just forgetting? I had thought the other Inhuman cities still had their own sources?
